The winning photograph, titled "trees on the ridge" was taken in Tuscany in May 2004. This was shot on a Hassleblad Xpan with a 45mm lens and polarizer using Velvia 50 film. The Xpan is a panoramic format, that uses standard 35mm film. The image size works out at 24 x 65mm.
For this image, the camera was titled on its side. The final image was scanned using an EPSON 4870 flat bed scanner. No other alterations were made.
This image has been one of my favourites for some time and has become my signature image. To say I was pleased to win is an understatement. |
